The Schenker XMG Fusion 15 is primarily a gaming laptop, but it's also made for the creative sector. A barebone from Intel (NUC X15 Laptop Kit C71FBF) serves as the basis of the lightweight (just under 2 kg), compact laptop. The device can be customized in Schenker's online store and is available for prices starting at about 1,500 Euros (~$1,492)(with the GeForce RTX 3060). Our configuration variant has a price tag of just under 2,000 Euros (~$1,989).
The combination of the Core i7-11800H CPU (Tiger Lake), the GeForce RTX 3070 laptop GPU and 32 GB of RAM (DDR4-3200, dual-channel mode) equips the laptop for all application areas that require performance - video editing, rendering, gaming. Depending on the settings chosen, the GPU delivers performance rates that are near or above the RTX 3070 average.
The hardware brings all modern games smoothly onto the screen. Generally, the full display resolution (2560x1440 pixels) and high to maximum settings can be selected. It would also be possible to use higher resolutions if an appropriate monitor is connected - up to two additional screens can be connected (1x HDMI 2.1, 1x DisplayPort via USB-C).
A fast PCIe 4 SSD provides the necessary storage capacity (1 TB) as well as fast loading times. Should storage space run out, it can be topped up: The laptop offers room for a second SSD in M.2-2280 format. A PCIe 3 or a SATA model could be installed. RAID 0/1 is then supported.
The mechanical keyboard (with RGB single-key illumination) left a good impression overall and will be an important factor for many potential buyers. Users who have never used such a keyboard will have to get used to the typing experience.
