The Chevrolet Camaro is living on borrowed time with rumors estimating its discontinuation by the year 2025 or sooner. Some competitors, like the Dodge Challenger, are facing similar stumps due to slowing sports car sales and the push to discontinue gas-guzzling V-8 engines. Before they go, however, manufacturers are working hard to move as many units as possible. And to attract attention, special editions are being unveiled left and right.

If you weren’t aware, the Chevy Camaro is sold in markets other than just North America. This latest special edition is a case of just that as it’s only offered in Japan. Called the Rapid Blue Edition, this Camaro starts out with the LT RS trim and is finished in bright Rapid Blue paint outside.

The package also includes black body stripes and five-spoke bright finish alloy wheels measuring 20 inches. Inside is a white and black leather combination for the seats and door panels. All 20 units will come with a special Camaro Canvas Tote as a gift with custom graphics that match the car. Though, that is all of the special goodies you can get on this edition.

As it is based on the LT RS trim in Japan, this Rapid Blue Edition lacks the favored V-8 engine and is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. This powertrain produces 271 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque to the rear wheels through an eight-speed gearbox.

This isn’t the first exclusive Camaro model in Japan as Chevy also offered a Wild Cherry Edition earlier this year. This model featured Wild Cherry paint and only 10 examples were produced.
