Consider wall panelling in materials like wood veneer or laminate. Note that woody tones infuse warmth, impart richness, and create a nice look. One can also give a three-dimensional patterned look to the bare walls with 3D MDF panels or MDF jalis. This is one of the best ways to embellish bare walls and it can be sprayed, laminated, or finished.

In moisture-laden areas like the basement, it is advisable to go for PVC panelling as they are resistant to mould and mildew.

We can use tiles in the outdoor walls or as a feature wall for the home. From a wood-look to a natural stone-look, tiles are available in a variety of options. The best part about tiles is that it creates an easy-to-maintain and water-resistant surface. This material is perfect for high-traffic areas as it can handle wear and tear.

Wallpaper is one of the easiest ways to change the look and feel of any space. The advantage of using wallpaper is that it features bold, colourful designs in the form of patterns and motifs. Another plus is that wallpapers can last for 10 years, but should be avoided in moisture-laden areas like the bathroom or basement.

For rented apartments, go for peel-and-stick wallpaper as it is a temporary method to infuse a stylish look to any space and it is easy to apply.

Upholstered panels add softness and are a great way to add colour, pattern and texture to accentuate a wall. One can also hang tapestry as they are lightweight and can be installed easily on the wall.

Wall painting is a cumbersome job, so if you have a worn-out wall and are not in a position to paint, consider floor-to-ceiling curtains. It is an effective method for adding softness and camouflaging the imperfections of the wall.

Introduce floor-to-ceiling mirrors in compact spaces, as it is a great way to visually expand and double the space. When a mirror is placed opposite a window, it reflects the outdoor views and plenty of natural light.

Cover the wall with a dense layout of photographs and paintings in all shapes and sizes to create an interesting composition. It forms an eye-catching element and transforms into an accent wall.
